Thread: Rocksmith Official Bugs and Issues Thread | Forums

Just another PS3 player here who absolutely loves the game, but wishes the game wouldn't freeze up between songs during performances.

Does the game freeze because the game itself has issues indexing the tracks between on disk and dlc? I've never had it freeze during a song, but i can see it struggling between tracks, and it's then that it freezes. I can maybe get away with a dice roll with a small 3 song set list, but anything more than that and it'll freeze while loading a song.

At this point, Ubisoft is violating consumer protection laws by continuing to sell copies of Rocksmith and dowloads knowing that the game is faulty. There have been many lawsuits against software companies that mirror this and precedent has already been set. This is about to get very expensive for Ubisoft.

Um, the game works fine for hundreds of thousands of people. And even if you did sue, you'd have prove damages of some sort, which you can't. If you didn't like it, you should've returned it and got your money back. Why not try to be part of the solution, and report any unique issues you're having, so the devs can continue working to solve the problems?

Please make sure that if you are having any issues that you report them to Ubisoft Support. You can follow the link in my signature.

Rocksmith users have posted some horror stories here about becoming frustrated with the ineffective Ubisoft support responses and how some of these cases have been handled. Could you check with the higher ups to see if the support quality could be improved beyond ignoring the user and saying that game play advice isn't offered?

Angry Any other game would have been tossed long ago

I agree - we have (well, I know I have) been posting to Ubisoft support since I bought it in January - all I get told is to call Sony (I received the "is the disc clean/is your firmware current" canned reply twice in the same thread). I replaced the Blu-ray disc, I went through a file system reinstall with Sony, and the same thing happens. I've provided important detailed clues on the possible causes of it (not much different than what others have posted), with no acknowledge meant besides "our devs are working on it and we'll post to the web site when a fix is in place", which wasn't done - the only way I know there was an update was (I swear this is true) I stuck the disc in for the first time in 2 months because I missed the theme song, and the game update notification was received. The update was a start - the audio input is disabled between songs in a setlist, which helps, but the game still crashes - usually, but not exclusively, due to crowd reaction (very impressive if it didn't kill the PS3) combined with the note highway filling full of chords.

The ONLY reason I didn't return this, and I stupidly keep buying DLC and hoping for the best, is that this is what I've been waiting for since Guitar Hero II came out. I'd love to switch to the Xbox version if that's stable, but it's $80 to switch, plus starting over at level 1, plus repurchasing all my DLC, would be over $100 I'd have to spend. Again. At this point, I'd eat the $20-$30 for the DLC if Ubisoft would send the Xbox version to me.

don't bother wasting time here anymore, all they will tell you is:
    - Have you updated the firmware to the latest version available?

    1. If you have an internet connection available, connect to the PlayStation Network to download and install the latest firmware available. These firmware updates are periodically released by Sony to fix certain issues with the console, and are required to play the latest games.
    2. If you do not have an internet connection available, you can still get the firmware updates. Please contact Sony directly at

    for more information.

    - Is your game CD Scratched or Damaged?

    1. Inspect the underside of the CD closely.
    2. If their are any smudge marks, dirt, or scratches, clean the disk.

NOTE: When cleaning CDs, wipe from the center of the disc to the edge using a soft, lint-free cotton cloth. Do not use a circular motion. Also, do not use paper cloth which can scratch the plastic and leave streaks.

    3. Insert the CD and try playing again.

NOTE: We have had reports of bad saves causing these problems. In a few cases, removing the memory card )if applicable) while the system is frozen will allow the game to continue. You should then be able to insert the memory card again and continue playing.

    - Do you have more then one controller plugged in?

    1. Try removing all but one controller from the system before loading the game again.
    2. If the game loads, there may be a problem with one of the other controllers.

If you continue to have this problem after attempting all the tips above, then you should take the game back to the retailer and swap it for another copy. If you continue to have this problem with a new copy of the game, then the problem is most likely with your PS3. At this point you should call Sony @

. We would also like to know the serial and model number of your console. These numbers are listed on the back of your PS3. Thanks for your help.

Yep, I got that response already. Twice.

At this point I'd enthusiastically take an Xbox version and enough Xbox points to repurchase all my PS3 DLC on Xbox (and then I'd have a 2nd cord for friends to play with, and then to go home and purchase their own Xbox copies and DLC, making Ubisoft more money (hint), plus I get the trophy & achievement). But more realistically, I'd at least like an Xbox disc mailed to me (doesn't take away any pending income from Ubisoft, since the PS3 disc is useless without the cable).

However, at this point, I've told my friends don't buy it yet, as I know the PS3 version is unusable, and I don't know if the Xbox version is stable or not.

The XBox version is perfectly stable.

Thanks, at least I know I can tell my friends that (most of them are Xbox or dual-console).
