Guys pick up the latest issue of Gamepro to see some pics of European infantry upclose together with some Mangusta helo support in the background. It looks like they're equipped with the French FELIN future infantry outfit.

A second new screenshot shows the US JSF with their future version of evolved GRAW outfit. I would have preferred the Future Force Warrior getup as shown here.

You can read the article in this site, it mentions alot of info on the AI which other articles have just hinted at. Check out this link:

what that pic has been on the web before ENDWAR was ever thought of it has nothing to do with endwar (but they may still use the future force warrior exoskeleton) here is some info on FFW.

    The Science Behind the Warrior

The focus is always on the soldier, and through basic and applied research, technology development combat essential elements of command and control, survivability, lethality, sustainability and mobility are incorporated into the soldier system and warrior systems for the services and agencies.

The warrior wears a vest that can be configured in many ways depending on the mission and the infantryman's comfort. It's married up with body armor that will protect the soldier from 9mm bullets and shrapnel.

The future warrior's Kevlar helmet is cut shorter and is more comfortable than the present day helmet. The soldier will also have protective knee and elbow pads for when they're "running and gunning."

The heart of the individual warfighter system is a wireless local area network. An infantryman has a computer in the back with a separate communications/navigation system. What he sees is transmitted to all. It's a true network, not point-to-point communications.
The system operates off a rechargeable lithium battery good for six to eight hours if everything's turned on. A non rechargeable battery for combat that lasts up to 12 hours has also been developed.

This issue of the DTIC Review examines the technologies for the individual warfighter and fundamentals related to projectile, personnel armor, and soft target interaction to achieve advances in personnel protection systems and understanding of damage to soft targets.

The selected documents and bibliography are a representation of the material available on the warrior of the future from DTIC's extensive collection. Additional references, including electronic resources, can be found at the end of the volume. In-depth literature searches may be requested by contacting the Reference Team, Network Services Division at the Defense Technical Information

    Delta085,

thanks for the headsup, but if you look at what I posted I said that I preferred that they would have used the FFW image that I posted. I did NOT say that was what Endwar was using.

By the way, I'm quite familiar with DTIC, having used them as a resource for my research for a number of years.

Hope I don't sound condescending, but I've been following military technology, trends in the military and programs for more than 15 years. I'm now a regular at the annual AUSA conference which is THE largest landpower convention in the world. And I'm a former 11M from 3rd ID.

You know LordTenacious, I found the link and saw that it SEEMED to repeat the whole article so I was surprised when you said that it said nothing new.

Those sneaky guys at the Gamepro website edited the article. The article for those who have been following Endwar closely did mention 2 new things not found in any other interview:

info on clans - check out what I quoted about the clans and MP in the clan thread.

    &
    AI - Here's a direct quote:
"'Because Endwar is a game of real battlefield tactics and not resource management, the AI can fight like a real world General,'says Endwar creative director Michael DePlater. That means using maneuvers and strategies like flanking, ambushing, deploying decoys, and applying in-depth defense.'Michael guarantees that the AI in Endwar has a distinct fighting style, strategy and realistic behavior. 'We have a level of attention to detail in the soldier behavior that goes beyond any RTS to date. In fact it goes beyond any FPS I've seen.'"

    End of quote.

All I can say is OMFG and Hell yeah!
