This one is almost as fake as the Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighters and Splinter Cell Double Agent. It would be better to base this more in relaity than in fantasy. There is almost a guarenteed chance that WW3 would be fought in the Middle East within 20 years rather than aganst Russia. I also doubt that the technology used to transport troops from low Earth Orbit would even be avalible in 20 years. If the storyline could branch off from current events then it would be more realistic and better to get into.

I like the story. If anything, I would've liked to see China involved somehow. And maybe a playable "terrorist" faction.

Actually if you've been following military trends/technology & recent geopolitical events, the scenario seems highly plausible. In regards to tech for launching to LEO, it's a bit hopeful, but that's not to say that the designs aren't in place and projects are having success.

    An example:
Did you know that DARPA has researched & executed a program whereby a satellite is able to dock to another and make some repairs. They hope to eventually get to refuel orbiting satellites, extending their lifespan, even changing sensors to upgrade them!

Google Space X and the Falcon programs and you'll see there has been progress.

That being said I do agree that the Middle East will for decades be a focal point for future conflicts.

what i dont get is if this is in the supposed universe that the ghosts are in, russia and the US already had a major war(original ghost recon), plus all the other shenanigans that occured. this seems more of like a mashup of tom clancy games than it is anything else.

It would be awesome if Ubi had more time to devolop and integrate the Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, and Ranbow 6 gameplay into this RTS.

tom clancy has pretyt much nothing to do with the development of this game. basically the ubi license just allows them to slap his name on games.

You're right, PrinceCaspian, this has been mentioned in more than one article that I've read. Guess it accounts for the better storyline at least in terms of geopolitical events that can act as a powderkeg for the next world war!
