Heroes V - Success or Failure? Get the word out!

Hi guys! As a longtime Heroes from my youth to adulthood I am very passionate about the series. After helplessly watching the fall of 3DO and NWC I cannot wait for the next installment to come! As the 3DO forums went down I had no where to voice my suggestions I had bouncing through my head (The way battles should be! Page1 Page2 and Bringing HOMM back to life! Page1 Page2) and all I can say is thank goodness for Celestial heavens! Without them I would probably missed Ubisofts acquisition of M&M and all the build up and the official announcement about this game and not been able to voice my ideas and suggestions. And there in lies the problem.. missing out on NEWS! There are literally millions of Heroes fans around the world from all continents that don’t know about Heroes 5 coming because they either don’t visit news sites or they just live under a rock lol. Through online gaming I have met heroes fans from America, England, Russia, Australia (I’m one of), China and Taiwan just to name a measly few of the massive amount of countries the heroes games have touched.

UBISOFTs marketing and news releases will only reach out to so many people. Its up to us the fans to get the word out to everyone else! I have done all that I can for the moment. I have gone out to every forum that I have ever repeatedly visited or been a member of and posted the news of the Heroes 5 announcement, a screenshot and a link to this place. The results have been most interesting. While there’s been mixed responses there’s been so many people saying things like “Oh my god I love Heroes of M&M and had no idea a new Heroes game was coming. I’m definitely going to buy this one†etc. And while many have posted responses many have viewed the threads without posting and now know of this place. I will post the results of my work below so you can all see where I’ve been and the amounts of people the news has been exposed to. Now I know that many of the member counts included inactive accounts and Alternate Identities but I have still exposed the news to thousands. If 1 man can visit his favorite forums and inform thousands of fans just imagine what each one of you can do if you visit your favorite message boards. Unfortunately I couldn't put all the links due to my fear that their warez related content may breach the rules of this board which is a shame since some of the best results (opinions and post counts) have come from the sites I couldn't link to as they are places where many gaming fans hang out.

If Heroes V doesn’t make enough money it will be the last of the Heroes of Might & Magic games. Do any of us want that? I think not.. So many don’t know about this sequel and believe Heroes is dead. Lets change this! Its easy.. just hop into your favorite forums and post the announcement showing 1 screenshot (not all because we want them to come to the site to see the rest, and I chose the 1st because it’s the most ‘Heroes looking’ shot and the most beautiful), and a link to http://www.mightandmagicgame.com . If you need an example of the post follow my links below (hell you can even use mine if you want lol I don’t care), and then post the place and its size in this thread so that others don’t accidentally duplicate the work.

I can't give an answer to your question only with what you have, but I do appreciate your work & dedication. You make some good points in your analysis.

Thanks again. Though I'm not sure what you meant about me asking a question as my post was more of a statement.

I think HoMM 5 will be a definitive success. I believe there are heaps of Heroes fans who are just dying for a new homm game.

And the 3D approach will IMO be formidable.

sketan, I also think the game will be a success. Ubi is not facing the problems 3DO had when they were developing H4. The only question is - will the game be:
    - a short time success?
    - a long time success?
    - game of the year?

Not only HOMM5, but the whole dying genre of TBS needs as much support and sales as possible to give us more great turn based games like HOMM, MOM, AOW, Galactic Civilizations, etc.

Also another fantasy TBS game being developed that looks very promising: http://www.revoltage.pl/

Good post Blake. It's nice to see more loyal HoMM fans taking action. I sure hope that Ubisoft considers the results as a success, so that they will keep developing NEW HoMM games FOREVER and EVER ... ... what a wonderful world this would be.

Ahh I see.. I probably should have worded it differently as it wasn’t my intention to ask people here whether they thought heroes 5 would fail or not. It was meant to say that getting the word out now to the fans would decided whether its failure or not.
