Thread: 'Blue Sky Time' - What Missions Would You Like To Have Made? | Forums

If you had a private audience with the dev's and best mod / mission makers, what missions would you like to have made for you for SH3?

Historical recreations? Fantasy? Secret missions? Famous missions?

Have a think, come back and post them here. You never know, a mission maker might read your post and think "What a good idea!" I need to say at this point I'm not an epxert mission maker!

Here's one - I'd like some clandestine missions like inserting or picking up secret agents, you'd have to travel to rendevous points, updated by radio messages, obviously without being detected, wait til darkness, approach a beach or a small boat where a secret agent would be waiting. You surface, bang open the hatch and he makes to climb aboard. Sudennly - AALLLAAARM! Aircraft! and your conning tower is lit up by a searchlight! you dive and turn away but now there are DD's bearing down you and the only means of escape, and keeping the agent alive is shooting your way out.

Go mad, let your imagination run riot!

I was thinking something more like the Guns of Navarone- except in reverse. Secret German mission to sneak through sub nets and approch coastal batteries or a hidden base in rock formation. Surface, launch raft with spec ops and then retrieve them. Of course it wouldn't go right and then the destroyer chase would ensue.

I would realy like some secreat missions, you know real spec ops stuff. What would make it even better would be if it was integrated into the campaign.

Your off blowing up tankers when you get a return to base order. Once you get back to base you are issued with a secreat mission to take a group of sabatours to America and if you do this you will get some new prototype equipment. Or you have to tow a prototype V2 launcher out to a precise location inorder to launch the missle and once you get there you have to stay on the sruface for the better part of a couple days as the engineers prepare to launch.

Well gents, some of that stuff can be and has been done.

I have made five singleplayer missions - from rare to heavy scripted - dealing with the adventures of U42, an imaginary VIIb boat without historical background. They were created in 2005, when patch 1.2 was available.
They'll run on vanilla SH3, any modcompatibility is untested. I've implemented some harbour traffic to wilhelmshaven and one mission is the first available "real" wolfpack attack. They run with 1.4.

This mission "U42WolfpackAttack" is rarely scripted but available in english language.
Thanks again to the Avon Lady for translating briefing and internal-boat-communication.

I was looking for some people to translate my german navy style briefings and boat-communication into fitting english navy speech, but I wasn't very sucessful. Maybe one of you guys will have some fun with your translating software?

First mission (U42Stahlgewitter) is rather unscripted. You'll have to interfere or simply watch (F12) a surface battle between one british and two german task forces. Nelson and company against Admiral Hipper and Prinz Eugen Task Forces. German Luftwaffe will try to sink Nelson...
Well - a nice 30 Mins Movie. Do your best to sink the Nelson if you want.

Second mission (U42DerKurier) will make you transfer an important officer of german high command from the Azores to Madeira. You'll have to have some imagination here.

Third mission (U42WolfpackAttack) will make you part of a wolfpack attack on a guarded atlantic convoy. Your two compagnions will attack from the north and sink some freighters but will be attacked by the watchdogs.
Your boat is closing from the south...

Fourth mission (U42Waffentest) is heavy scripted. Your boat is temporarly commanded by a scientist who wants to test some torpedoes in a navy testingground. You're ordered to reach the shootingrange and sink six freighters with different torpedosettings. After that you'll have to bring the guy back into the harbour and dock your boat.
Not your mission, if you have problems with insubordination...

Fifth mission (U42Geheimauftrag) will make you decode (very simple) your operation area and follow BdU orders to demoralize some british "Hunter-Killer-Group" testing.

All missions include internal boat communication. Some of the fun is based on this fact, therefore it's nescessary to have it in english language. The ReadMe files will give you important information too.

Well, if someone wants to help out I'll be glad to offer some adventures...
You should be able to match the navy atmosphere with your writing style.

Send an e-mail to triplex at cool ms, put SH3 into the headline.

    Edit: U42WolfpackAttack.mis - english version!
    Free Download!!
(Create folder U42WolfpackAttack and put .mis in. Insert folder into ...\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\SingleMissions\En glish. Start SinglePlayerMission)

@ Wilhelm, - if you had time to remake them I'd give them a go - would they work with GW I wonder?

@Mittelwaechter, Celeon here on the forum should be able to translate them for you if he has time. Celeon?
