Thread: Missing textures, screen blurring, anyone know how to fix this? | Forums

  1. #1
Hi all, yesterday I've bought Splintercell, in the first level it already was slow as hell (when you encounter the 1st flaming barrel), and I upgraded my drivers which fixed it.

Now, about 5 levels later (Television in Indonesia level) a lot of things have missing textures, the rain, streets, complete walls, people.

In heatview however, I can see just normal (as you would in heatvision), but normal vision is totally messed up.

I've completed the whole level in heatvision only to find the level after it has the same problems.

I've fiddled around with the .ini's trying to fix the problems (changed texture caching from 4 to 128mb, etc).

Here is a screenshot of how it looks:
    http://www.euronet.nl/users/keesriet...reproblems.jpg

My computer consists of the following parts:

    AMD 2000+ (1.66ghz)
    768mb DDR 400mhz RAM
GeForce 4 TI 4400 (latest ForceWare drivers, 55+something)
Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 (fully updated)

I have no problems at all with other games running D3D, only with Pandora (the missing textures part).

I run @ 1280x1024 with 4x FSAA and 4x Texture Filtering (tried disabling this, also.)

Oh, 1 thing I noticed, that as I was a bit further in the level, inside the building the floor was white, I auto-saved, died, quickloaded, and the part turned normal again, I've tried this many times to see if it would work for the beginning of the TV level but didn't work, so think it has something to do with the texture pre-caching.

Thanks for reading this, and ofcourse, thanks even more for your answers

    Sincerely,

Sam Fisher (Played by the SevenSins :P)

I'm also extremely sorry if I posted this in the wrong section, as I could not find any "tech support" forums or the like.

well first ya might want to try reinstalling first if you haven't already. CD could have had a small read error and didn't copy the actual textures. The only time I got anything like that was when I tried to run games on unsupport cards, i.e. managing to beat PoP on a Radeon 7500 the screen actually went black when doing the daggar time rewind so I'd have to guess. Other than that contact support.

Ok, I haven't tried reinstalling yet.

Is there anyway to keep my saved-games?

I did upgrade Pandora to 1.3, that's all I altered.

Also tried UseVsync=True under d3drender in the SplinterCell2.ini (my friend told me) but didn't work either.

I'll try reinstalling as soon as I find a way to keep my saved games :P

i believe that the uninstaller will prompt you about keeping saved games/settings otherwise it's this directory just copy it somewhere else and put it back after the reinstall
    C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow\offline\Save

Maybe it`s some kind of artifacts.
    Your gfx-card might be overheated.

When you quickloaded, the card maybe got the little break it needed to cool down a little.

    Just a guess.
