Split screen on PC? Are you two gonna take turns sitting on each other's lap?

Split screen makes sense on a console - your buddies come over, get drunk, and play games... on the couch. <Not sitting on each others lap at a desk.

Split screen would suck on a PC - it would make high end audio which provides excellent discrete directional sound useless etc..

It'll be silly to have to tell your friend he has to bring his own PC to your house. I can understand a LAN party but, isn't it best to have more than two ppl playing a LAN game? xD.

If you plan on playing a lot of LAN games with friends you should be building a LAN box, not a desktop. Or, although more expensive, a proper laptop.
