Thread: "Target Demo" Breakdown *update 1* | Forums

    I thought about breaking down the demo and find things that we may have missed, I didn't find much, but here goes nothing

    Here we can see "Use IPAD" the thing is, I think that may add a little variety, I know the sequence will still play the same with the husband, yet again for example being able to read some of his nots on the IPAD would make the 2nd playthough the campaign different in these static moments





    The patriots are american, so they are using SCAR-H which to me is kinda nice, I am sick of AK-47, everywhere I go, everwhere I look, every game I play there are some bad guys with AK-47





    Here I don't think there will be a Prone position in the game, but I guess there will be times when you can go prone in some areas and be able to snipe hostiles, also I think the character is using the same rifle, so that means Sniper attachment, kinda like Splinter Cell (Sniper Attachment, Shotgun Attachment, .....etc)





    Now comes the augmented reality, you can see how it display info about the bomber and the radius





    Here you can see the 2nd R6 team, from the target demo I don't believe you will be able to control them, but having 2 teams is kinda nice





    Another shot showing the augment reality, when there is obstacle like smoke, cars, etc the hostile would be displayed in red, also your target are marked with a red triangle above their head, it's like they are top priorty, while the yellow triangle is for the 2nd team to take care of





    If you notive there are 2 circles, I think that's the bomb radius and it's effect, red being the hot zone, while yellow the medium zone






    The new repelling I guess you can run, or dive to repel down fast




    Here it seems the rifle has some sore of 3-shot burst, I guess it's either one shot or 3-shot burst, which kinda add impact to the bullet unlike the non stop firing







    In the next 4 pics you can see the cover system, I think the ability to lean is still there at least in the SP, and there is cover changing position with different animation, such deep details makes a difference, the whole cover system animation is really good







    In this shot you see what I like to name "target body parts", I think that's R6 way of taking out someone without killing him, knee, ankle, elbow, at least when there is no time to go non-lethal






    I think this is the work of Scanner, not sure though, but I believe it is cause it display the target, penetrate the cars, any objects, .....etc




    Here you see the command system with using Flank while you are unable to deal with hostiles




    Even though you commanded your teammates to deal with them, it doesn't mean they will die, some may surivive and hide, so you need to be careful and deal with them




    Last one, it shows the causalities number in case the bomb goes of on the bridge, another work of the augmented reality




    Maybe most of the stuff I just mentioned you know about it, but I just wanted to do it

    I am excited about this game, the focus on story is a great thing for me, and adding tactical choice will add replayability to the campaign, I can't wait to see what they will show in VGA



    Update 1:
    I am not sure but I think the rifle that R6 team is using is HK417

    Excellent break down Sameer.

    The cover system, though it's in 3PP - I do like how you cannot see what is out there unless you poke your head out. Many disagree with it being 3rd person "out of body experience". For my personal tastes, this does not bother me. I look at it as an awareness to your body positioning and (the digital way) of making up for you not actually "feeling or knowing" where exactly you are in that point in time, down to the finite details. I do feel this style of cover system will be in multiplayer as well (meaning you will have to peek to see what is happening) I am ok with this.

    So you think leaning is in there? I don't notice it (maybe I am going blind or visually stupid)



    I agree with you regarding the car section pic still, that is definitely the scanning tech at work, which they mentioned it will be limited to how/when you can use it (though did not explain the "limit" part yet)

    Prone, this I am hoping makes it fully into the game & not just parts of it,I look forward to them explaining this along with the new melee system they vaguely mentioned.

    Aussie Rappeling is amazing. I saw a YouTube vid where some guy rappeled from a 220 foot story building (or around there) in 7 seconds flat. You can definitely run or glide with this -- quick, swift and fierce when executed correctly.

    I understand your concerns about the cover system, since it can feel unrealistic at times (magical view) but if it like the target demo with peeking, I think it will be a little realistic, to be honest I like the whole 3rd-cover for a whole different reason, simply it makes you see your character, connect to him, and who he is, I played some FPS and never gave a damn about the character cause I didn't feel connected to him at all, also I said in SP only, cause Pest_AWC said he had someone on the MP demo who told him it is vegas style, so I am not sure


    I think I read somewhere that there will be a time limit to the use of Scanner


    I really want to know more about the Melee system too, maybe the premier in VGA will reveal more ?!, and maybe we get to see how the game looks now, not a year ago

    Oh no, I don't disagree with cover system, I like it. I was just explaining how others may see it that way. Sorry for misleading there

    Great breakdown dude!

    Right now the most important thing for me is how they have implemented the 'Planning/Scripting' mechanics. They mention smarter AI and multiple tactics, would really like a lot more info on that.

    I guess there is a simple demo they showed to everyone, it would be nice to show us that one

    You know the demo of the hostage in the garage, they can make 4 different videos for different tactics and it's outcome, it would really add alot to our info

    Just thought about it, it is going to be awesome if the CO-OP players get divided to two different zones. 2 on the roof and two on the side of the bridge (hint hint, 4 player Co-op through missions). The difference in perspective and strategy would make that section pure awesomeness.
