Probably best to post this in here, I just played the Hellhounds P38 campaign, hats off to the person who made it as its good fun and has a good variety of missions but I'm looking for a new offline campaign. I've also played the Real Deal and 2 little Ducs so has any one got any recommendations on good and fun campaigns?

Not too fussed about the planes involved but not the worlds biggest fan of VVS aircraft.

Right, now here comes a list. The following campaigns, if you don't find them on the Pacific Fighters missions page, can be found either at http://www.airwarfare.com or http://www.flying-legends.com

HH-Dubbo's Castaway Campaign - still my absolute favourite, because of the sheer atmosphere and creativity of it. You fly a Beaufighter from an abandoned airfield on a Pacific Atoll.

Chuck Older's 'When Tigers Could Fly': An American Volunteers Group campaign, flying early P-40s in 'China' - simulated using several Eastern front maps.

Bird_Brain's 'Cactus Diary': his latest - Flying F4F4 Wildcat's as a USMC pilot, during the initial invasion of Guadalcanal.

Bird_Brain's 'El Amein': A campaign in three parts - fly as an RAF, USAAF or Luftwaffe Afrika Corps pilot over the desert during the push to El Amein.

HH-Zeus Cat's 'Straight Shot': A short 8 mission campaign for the Zero float place (Rufe). Quite a lot of fun to fly a campaign that isn't at all centred around air combat operations.

Bird_Brain's 'The Blue': BBs early war desert campaign, flying a Gladiator for the RAF. Such a beautiful cockpit in the desert sunset.

Istvan (VP Media)'s 'Beaufighters in the Desert': Self explanatory - the first mission (taking a Beau off a carrier) is a real bizatch.

VPMedia's Hungarian campaign: Late war campaign flying 109s for the Hungarian Air Force. Istvan's skins are incredible, and his campaigns are like a Whitman's sampler

'Against Overwhelming Odds' (sorry, forgotten author temporarily): A neat campaign for the Me-163B Komet 'Bertha'. Intercepting huge Yankee air strikes in a rocket interceptor - fun stuff. Lots of variety, too, which was a pleasant surprise.

'Leaning Foward into France': Spitfire campaign over early Nazi occupied Normandy. Excellent classic Spit vs 109 dogfights.

'Festung Europa' (Hot Space): Same again - but no less fun!

'The Shooting Stars': Fictional Campaign flying the P-80 Shooting Star for the USAAF over Ardennes. Watch out for the 262s!

'Balaton 1940': A fictional campaign - you start out in a B-239 Brewster but quickly move on to a 109E7/B. I've liked what I've seen so far (only played 5 missions).

'China 1945': An enjoyable fictional campaign flying the P-51B Mustang over 'China'.

Johnny Red: I really like this one. It's based on a comic book from the '70s, about a bad-*** British pilot who gets stuck in Russia and keeps his fight up against the Jerry with the Red Falcons. You fly a Hurricane, don't worry. I think the mission designs of this campaign are particularly neat.

Hell-Hounds P-38 Campaign Pt2 - just in case you didn't know there was a sequel to the P-38 campaign you just enjoyed

    That's a start, anyway

Bird_brain, I would do but I've played nearly all your campaigns!

I still go back to Greatest Aces occasionally to see if I can do better.

Thanks for the link JunkoIfurita but airwarefare, flying legends and netwings have been my stable diet of offline flying for sometime so I've played most of them.

Dubbo's stuff doesn't get the credit it deserves. Castaways is a hoot. You won't find a better campaign from a three-fingered, one-legged, mute with only a sixth-grade education ANYWHERE!

    Um...thanks Zeus....

For sheer immersion and concentration, Zeus-cat's Straight & True campaign is hard to beat. It's a torpedo campaign for the IL-2T and is very intricate which makes all your achievments within the campaign that much sweeter. It's also available at airwarfare.com

Thanks to the WOLFMondo for playing and finishing my Hellhounds P-38 campaign. That was my first. Nice to know that it stood up.

JunkoIfurita, glad you liked Castaway. Did you actually play Pt2 of the Hellhounds campaign?
I never got any feedback on that from anyone so it'd be nice to know it was played through at least...

For the record, "Against Overwhelming Odds" was by Dunkelgrun.

Looks like I'm going to have to have a go at "Straight & True"--it's been d/l'd for a while, but I just never got around to it.

i started playing cats eye but theres a graphics glitch which really prevented me playing it past the first mission.

i'll have to try it now i've installed the new catalyst drivers.

not sure i tried festung europa, i played a couple of spitty campaigns a while back since i reformatted i lost all my il2 gubbins [2gb of skins too]. i'll give it a try.

Dubbo, the hellhounds campaign is good fun, some missions i had to try a number of times cause i got shot down, massed ship aa is nasty but i love to fly the p38j so it was a fun never the less. theres one bug though, the mission where your supposed to have no ammo cause your transporting someone, i had ammo for some reason.
