Thread: Problems with cystal locks in Spire (Spoilers) | Forums

I've used the level 3 Prima game guide that came with the game, tuned the gears correctly (Gear1: 4, Gear2: 3, Gear3: 7), turned the three sliders all the way up to try to get the Nara lock to do something which right now is nothing.

I have a Amd Anthlon 1700+, Geforce FX 5200, and 768mb of ram.

    Any ideas?

    *sigh*....

(Dont be offended, but it's a very, very common problem)...

    Your problem isn't technical actually...
What you must not realize is that the gears are not set to "0" at first, but to "1" as their primary setting.
Meaning, that if you want to tune 'em to the "fourth" level- you need to move the wheel "3" times!
Get back to the tuning wheels, turn all of 'em to their primary setting, and substract "one" from the setting you want to adjust to.

I saw the three cystals scattered around Spire and the indicators on them and tuned the gears in the 4 ways possible and turned the sliders all the way up and nothing happened. I used the Prima guide to make sure I was doing everything right.

But whoever came up with the idea that the home position should be 1 in the first place?

It's logical... there's a "moving mark" that's showing the setting of the specific crystal... and it's starting position on the valve is "1"... so, obviously, when you move the wheel *once*- it will transfer to "2"...
