Thread: How to deploy V-25 Goshawk? | Forums

I have 4 Ghost units that qualify for this, but I have no idea how to use it. It's not on the unit's ability list, just the sniper shot thing. Are there prereqs I have to do first? I paid for something I can't use..

It's reffered to as "deep strike"

You need 10 CP if the game is not in defcon, 8 if it is. 4/2 CP to deploy the riflemen, 6 to activate the deepstrike

You deploy the riflemen and when they enter the map but before they start to exit the heli you order them to a location. If you have 6cp they will move there in the heli.
Broke my signature and reset my ignore list, well done Ubisoft...

Ok, I'm with you now. I never heard of Deep Strike at any point in the game (I thought the Major would announce it as a special insertion or the pilot or something), but I got it working. What you're supposed to do is right click on the ground for the desired drop zone right after selecting the ghosts from the unit selection, in-mission.

As far as the Goshawk... That's supposed to be the future version of the V-22 Osprey?

I don't know why I pictured in my mind that it was a glider of some kind. Like they would jump out of the back of a C-130 and glide down to the drop zone and pop a chute at about 500 feet or something like a modified HALO jump (that would have been kinda cool). Anywho, I got it, thanks again.

You don't even need to do that. You can use the "move to" voice command to have the riflemen deepstrike anywhere. The best way is to set a rally point close to an enemy uplink (or anywhere else for that matter), but still in cover, then use the "move to rally point" order when deploying. That way your riflemen don't drop into a fortified uplink without cover.
