I just purchased Farcry but it gives me an error 1305 installation.
I searched the forum but didn't find anything very helpful.
I have:
ASUS A7V8X-X mb
GF6800oc Vid card
512 DDR
ATA drives(2)
XP pro
and a Samsung SW-248F CD-R/RW
The discs are brand new and do not have any smuges or scratches.
I've mapped a network drive to a different model CD-ROM on my network and had a different error, in the range of 1600s.
I've also updated my firmware on my CD drive with no luck.
I'm going to try to copy the 5 discs onto my harddrive and see if it will install then.
If that doesn't work what would you suggest I try next?
Thank you... the BOOGIEMAN.

Didn't work.
It will not let me copy the English.cab file from the cd. AT ALL! I tried to copy the file to a different PC too. It says:
Cannot copy English: Data error (cyclic redundancey check). when I tried to copy the file.
What next?
P.S.
There 1305 error it gave me before pointed to the English.cab file also.

HELP!
I guess the files corrupt. If this is due to copy protection **** then thats the last straw with that mess. I've been burned to many times with legal copies of software. Illegal isos seem so much more reliable. I guess since I'm not getting replies on here I'll have to get a pirated version of my legal software to play.
WOW! Thanks UBISOFT

Do you have CD or DVD copy software installed? If so disable or remove it and try again.

Dude your problem may be a simple 1 to solve so lets try something very simple. 1st completely uninstall all parts of the game you have installed. then go back to a restore date from before you 1st installed the game. Defrag your hard drive , then restart your pc. install the game and let us know how you make out.

Fist off, thank you for responding guys. I wasted quite a few hours today with this. Time is money and I lost a bit.
Its the 5 CDrom version not the DVD.
After the error it undoes the installation and removes the entire directory. Is their anything else I should remove. Registry entries or something?
I have a fairly fresh install of XPpro on here already. Fairly. I'm a techie so my system is pretty clean. I'll run the defrag, and/or try to install to a different hard drive. However, since my second computer cannot copy the English file either, wouldn't that imply that its a problem with the CD (disc 5)?
(Note
I forgot to mention I also have SP2 installed. Incase that is relavent.
Plus, I disabled my antivirus and tried that too.
Let me try again. I'll try to install on the 2nd pc also.

yeah well if it does the same thing on another pc then its the cd....

Yep. Its the English.pak file. When opening it with winrar if I run a test on it (Test option) or try to extract the file it hesitates on about 4% then says the archive is corrupt.
Anyone know where I could get a copy of that one file. All thats keeping me from installing this game is the English.pak file.
