    I have not been able to find/figure out how to release from swinging on a suspended pole to leap forward. R1/X gets me swinging but the release control(O being the only one that works) just drops me rather than propelling me forward. Any help would be appreciated!

    Just hit R1/X to the direction you want to leap forward.
