Thread: Why is the MTAR21 so popular? | Forums

  1. #1
I am bit curious why the MTAR21 is so popular amongst most people?

Is it because it has the most damage amongst the assault rifles?
If so why aren't there more people using the 552 Commando since it got 8 damage as well plus 1 higher range than the MTAR21?

    who knows.
i use the MP5 mostly since no one wears armor, and contrary to belief, it does help.
not much admitedly, but it does. Now only if head armor existed, which is why people probably think the armor doesn't help, they keep getting their heads blown off so easily that the body armor won't save them any (admit it, you don't aim for a guys body now do ya?)

so the MP5 makes just as easy for kills as any other gun in close quarter (and i'm able to even pickoff snipers from afar rath easily myself :P )
in the 360 game most people end up with the FAMAS or 552 i had noticed when i was playing it.
i personaly just vary dependant on what i like since the specs in this game are pretty null really.

what i question is why do people use the suppressors in reg MP when its pointless unless at greater ranges.
Humans can hear that thudding noise, where the AI may not (and actually doesn't)
with my 5.1 i can locate a suppressed gunner from across the map easy.

I like the UMP45 myself, nice kick and it doesn't recoil as much as the other assault rifles. I use the G3K4 for my heavy weapon and sometimes, even as a sniper rifle.

The suppressor does nothing to the gameplay except on a few maps (maybe), of course I am talking on SP mode. I have tried it multiple times and the tangos do hear it and start chatting but don't change their scripted positions one way or another so I don't use it anymore like I used to before.

MTAR is so popular due to its accuracy and rate of fire, as well as stopping power, i love teh G3KA4 as well, or teh uMP45 for close range indoor maps

Yes that is what I find little weird if you look at the MTAR21 and the 552 Commando.

    552 Commando
    Damage 8
    Range 7
    Accuracy 4

    MTAR21
    Damage 8
    Range 6
    Accuracy 4

The 552 Commando is superior (by little anyway) due to it has 1 higher range than the MTAR21 and yet people choose the MTAR21?

Im not 100% sure what range does in this game anyway so if anyone knows, feel free to enlighten me. I mean there is an assault rifle with the range of 2 and up to 8.

two major factors when choosing a gun for MP is rate of fire and reload times, just like the Famas was really popular in RVS because it took half the time to reload it. The P90 would have to be the worst IMO, due to the location of the mag. next time you load the game just check them out, just to see.

I for one think the assault rifles are pretty much balanced and not according to real stats because you'd think the AUG A3 being a bullpup configuration would have a lot more range than in the game. This game was designed for the console and therefore...guns don't have the real stats they should have.

Im just trying to figure out what the stats really mean and why most people are using the MTAR21.

The Accuracy bar tells you how closer the bullet will land to the center of the cross hair at a longer distance.

I think what he was saying was that it has less kick than the commando, thus spraying more bullets in a tighter circle.

Both of the weapons have 4 accuracy, so that would mean that they have an equal kick?
