I had the same problem....don't fret. Heck, my torpedos were duds and kept bouncing off the hulls. Just keep at it until you get it right. Be patient.
How close to target are you? Get 1000M or less.
Try to point the nose of you sub right at the target ship (assuming you are using forward tubes)
And try to have it so you are looking at the full broad side of the target. The closer you are to perpendicular the better.
Seems to work for me anyway.

first off, make sure u're withing good range.. i'd say within 1000m, but not too close. also, make sure u turn the pistol switch to 'I' impact only. and torpedo speed to fast.. this will ensure a greater explosion upon impact percentage. also, it is very important that you are close to 90 degree angle to the ship for maximum effect.
hope this helps
O.K. Thanks!
I'm getting between 1000m and 400m for my shots and I'm trying to get as perpendicular as possible. Also I'm lining the target up on 0 degrees. Will keep at it.![]()

The problem is that when you hit FIRE, it takes a second to open the tube and fire the torpedo. This delay is what's causing you to miss.
Make sure and open the appropriate torpedo tube door 5 seconds before firing. Then it will go off without delay and impact right on.
Try this:
After you get *all* the info entered in the notepad hit the check mark one last time to make sure the *compleat* solution is locked in. (When you do this keep an eye on your gyro angle, you may notice a substantial jump)
THEN fire.

that was my problem, i would get all the data and thought i was done bt u need to hit V once more, preferably JUST before u fire, so already open the tube with Q then hit the V checkmark and FIRE
hi
i am not using manual targeting, i can turn the pistol switch but not the speed switch...
is it only possible to turn the switch in manual targeting?
