I see that you got your crash problems sorted out...congratulations!

I've been having crashes too! Only when single missions of the career mode have finished loading though. It will start to show the sub in the U-boat pen then BAM....it'll freeze up!

What Nvidia Card are you running? and with what driver?

    I have a Nvidia GeForce FX 5700LE
I have managed to start a career and played one patrol even with the 67.20 driver but it will still end up crashing on reloads or attempting to start another career...

If you could tell me your system specs and what you turned off etc... it might help out my problem....

    Cheers! thanks in advance...

I also have a GeForce FX 5700 LE and I have had no problems with crashing to desktop. I'm running the latest drivers from the nvidia website and about the only option I changed (before I started playing it) was to turn on the last option on the video options of the four you get. I think it's the one for particle systems, but I'm at work and can't look.

What was the "synchronize" option for then? What does it do?

I had the event camera tunred off (unrealistic) and had the 'syncro' option off as well...

What are your full system specs mate?

Ah yes, synchronise, that was the option I turned on, not particle system...

I'm not too sure on what synchronise does, when I saw it, I assumed it was a Vsync option to sync display to the refresh rate to stop display tearing, but I have since seen people say that it is for lip sync of the crew to their responses.

I can't remember the specs of my machine of the top of my head, as I didn't build it myself, but here's what I remember:

    Intel Pentium 2.4 Ghz,
    1 GB RAM,
GeForce FX 5700 LE (running at AGP x4),
    SoundMAX Integrated Sounds Card,
    Intel Pro 1000 ethernet card,
    3com 10/100 ethernet card,
    Sansung CD/DVD-ROM (no burner)
    70 Gb HDD

I agree with chunkychops, since vsynch is a common graphics setup option.

I just cant understand why it plays the naval academy fine, but the Single missions and Career it freezes up at the words "INITIALIZING"...????????

I cant help but think its a bug or its just one minor setting that I need to tweak... I have tried numerous settings and have updated to V1.1 patch and the latest Nvidia driver...

But still the freeze happens at Initializing in single mission and career mode.

I have had a career work on 2 separate occasions (with current settings) but since then it still freezes at screen...

Its being a tempermental little ****!!!

How much memory do you have? How much free drive space?

Check the swap file and make sure windows is in charge of setting the size for it.

By the sounds of it your computer is having problems with the size of the game. The training and single missions are small but the campaign loads a lot of data in. I think that your computer is struggling with all this data not your graphics card.

Give us more info and i will try to help.
