the 3rd one isn't for seeing, it's some sort of technical thingy that makes sense when you hear it.

They may not be effective for it's purpose, but it's still effective as hell to make Sam Fisher look like a badass

doesn't it allow more light to be extracted from the surroundings to enhance sams goggles?
