Thread: Campaigns not loading | Forums

  1. #1
I am running version 1.0 collector edition. When I tried to play the first campaign it just freezes at the loading screen indefinitely. The skirmish mode runs without any problems however.

    Here's the dxdiag stats:

lssah_88 i think you should reinstall the game and patch to 1.2 after that. If you get any errors during install that may be it (when you copying files).
The main reason as to why the game would crash there would be the video card Card name: Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family it's under specs.
But since you say you can play skirmish - custom maps i don't think this is the issue here and a reinstallation would help.
Another thing you may want to do before uninstalling is creating a new profile in the single player screen to see if that one crashes too.
@RichardChing i don't think you have the same issue unless you are under specs.
Whay happens to you ? You don't see the main menu or you can play custom but not campaign?

I can play custom, but when I click on campaign and select the first mission, I don't get the load screen or anything, all the words disappear from the screen as if it were going to load, then it's just the two guys fighting in an endless loop. Yeah after thinking about it, its probably not the same issue. I searched all over and couldn't find any answer. I tried reinstalling too.

    Download this:
http://rapidshare.de/files/26808392/Campaign.sav.html and put it in your My Documents\My Games\Heroes of Might and Magic V\Profiles\"current profile in heroes 5"\Saves (if you have no saves directory create one).
You should be able to skip to mission 2 directly.Try loading that.

@Issah your driver is about a year old (if the info i saw on www.intel.com is correct). I don't know if it will help with the game, but if you're under specs...an up-to-date driver might help a little. G (-:

plus, there is a list of games with problems for this chipset for older games and with HoMM V being new...

@richard try updating your video card driver (if it's old) as an easy first stab.

Try to do this when your game crashes. Press alt tab and see if you got any errors there.
