yeah i'm going to try sitting at the spawn and having my little brother do a match on his own and see if it affects my stealth

then im going to try hacking like 25% from each terminal from the farthest away possible

then im going to try crouching and moving as slow as i can never taking a path a merc can take

any other suggestions i get i will try
i'll get back to you guys with the results

i still think descriptions should be posted by ubi somewhere cause its too late to put it in the manual where it should have been

I dont understand how "it" could not know. If they can shoot at you they can see you. Please explain your reasoning for your disagreement. Im just making assumptions. Im sorry I felt my stealth idea was correct.

And yes, psyichic, when I say "how well you utilize your gadgets" I could have also said "effectively" sorry for the utter confusion.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

i think what you guys mean is it is possible that the game could realize when a mercenary's vision was on a spy or when the flash light is showing on a spy however that may not work for the reason of sometimes a merc will just scan over a spy with the flashlight not realizing there was one there because his own human eyes missed it even though the mercenary saw it

Actually I think it might be possible for the game to flag wheter a spy is in the merc's FOV. I haven't done any coding at that high of a level but I suspect there must be some way since the game is able to put a nice white outline around the spy when they are moving and in the FOV.

Well, that's exactly my point. Just because a spy is on your screen doesn't mean you can actually see him and the game can't differentiate between when a spy is on your screen and you don't notice he's there versus a spy is on your screen and you do notice he's there UNLESS you're shooting at him and he's taking damage and/or he's outlined in white on your screen, which is what psyichic said and I agree with.

Well it could calculate the percentage that the merc has spotted a spy...cause they spy shows up with a white silhouet means that you have spotted them.. or when that noise pops up..not the motion sensor one..

how do u increase your direct action stat as a merc

Yeah, durkee, that's what I think. It figures out how much time you were tracked on motion and how much time you were detected by the proximity detector.

Red Dogg - I'm pretty sure that one way to increase your direct action as a merc is to knock over spies by either the berseker move or by charging at them. I don't know if the finishing move will increase it, but you can take the opportunity to kill the knocked over spy with a drone to also increase your gadgets rating.

    for spy:

i spent an entire round sitting in the spy spawn throwing down flash/smoke/jammers just to see is simply USING gadgets was enough to raise your ability score, and guess what? I'm sitting at 100% now...

the next round, i played as normal, but took EVERY opportunity to JUMP between areas, and to use ESCAPE MOVES to climb up into ceilings, and into vents / through windows... and i'm sitting at 100% now...

I have YET to try sneaking into an area, near an objective, and simply HIDING in the ceiling waiting until the end of the round - to see if i can get 100% stealth - but i'll be doing so soon.

    for merc:

i was able to raise "tracking" to 100% simply through playing the game normally, so i'm not sure of the criteria necessary to raise that stat, sorry

"equipment" i'm assuming, is going to work just like the spy - so i will attempt sitting in merc spawn and grenading / droning repeatedly for a round, and report my findings...

"direct action" i'm not exactly sure about the criteria needed to raise this one either - some have suggested "running and gunning" is the way to raise it, others that you have to melee the spies - seeing as how i've only melee'd one spy, and my rating is sitting at 4%... i don't doubt this one really?

    -----

now, i'm not advocating stat padding, but i was, and still am, curious as to the criteria necessary to raise my stats... i posted in various topics, and even started my own, but got no reply as to the way to raise the stats, so i've been experimenting, and hoping to pass that information on to others <div class="ev_tpc_signature">
