ya, it's a dumb name, but supposedly Microsoft may be naming it that because they wanted something that doesn't sound old when compared to the PS3. I mean think about it. When the average consumer walks into a game store and sees a XBOX 2 or a PS3 the normal reaction is to think that the PS3 is newer and better because of its higher number. Microsoft wanted a '3' to compete with PS3, but of course this is only their second system so they had to figure something out.
