Thread: A couple of questions (splitscreen related) | Forums

  1. #1
After being disappointed with UT3 (no splitscreen whatsoever), I decided to convert to Haze!

Now my main question would be if there's a FAQ somewhere with confirmed information regarding the game? I tried digging through the forums but some of the information seems pretty old so I don't know if it's reliable.

My main issue is the splitscreen, now I remember reading it's a limit to 2 players per PS3 but that was in the coop context. Are they boosting that to 4 players per PS3 for online (DM/TDM/etc)?

I hate to compare the 2 games but maybe it'll simplify my question...will the multiplayer features be like those of Halo3? (which are currently 2 players per system for coop and in online DM/TDM games which can have 4 players per system)

Sorry if this has been asked before but it's just that some of the info I found on the boards weren't exactly conclusive enough.

haze allows two players via split screen and four with online. you can have a mix of 3 online and one at your house or 2 at your house and 2 online. the online will be a enter on the fly type of deal where you dont have to restart the match or wait for the new member to reach you. i had the same question when i started posting on the blog so im glad to help answer it

Hmmm ok that answers my campaign question but maybe I'm the one that's misunderstanding so let me reformulate my question

If I have 4 friends over with 1 PS3 and 4 remotes, now I know we won't be able to play the campaign but will we be able to play multiplayer Haze?

I'm guessing it might even be a different answer depending on if it's vs bots or vs other people through the internet so a clarification to both those would be awesome.

I'm also a convert to Haze after the UT3 debacle! If Haze has even half the features of Perfect Dark or Timesplitters 2 it will be awesome. Sorry to invade your thread... carry on.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but no 4 player s/s at all, unless you have two systems connected via either LAN or online.

Haze FAQ - please check first if you have a question about Haze.

Yeah, it's 2 player splitscreen max under any circumstances, from what we've been told thus far.

Bummer, cause I seem to be part of a minority who likes playing 4 way split screen and none of my friends own PS3s.

Anyways 2 players is better than 1 so that's still ok. Thanks for the info guys

Honestly Rat, I'm sure the folks at FRD would've liked to have 4-player, but I don't think that the machine can support it. There's a ton of post-processing and such, as well as the 2 entirely differing skill sets that require a bunch of processing. I think it's more because of that, that it's 2-player as opposed to 4-player.

No don't get me wrong, I understand that games nowadays are getting limited by the hardware processing and I am grateful for having splitscreen.

I was just asking because it seems splitscreen is becoming a thing of the past and what was once pretty much a staple for FPS games is now a question mark.

Anyway I've been reading more and more about this game lately since UT3 isn't the "party-friendly" shooter I expected. I must say, this game looks like the game to replace Warhawk/CoD4 for the "party" game.

After playing games like Warhawk, Call of Duty 4, and Resistance I'm fairly certain that the hardware is capable of 4 player split-screen. Haze is more ambitious than those titles in its level of detail for the stages, effects, and particles though. The seamless gameplay probably doesn't help the situation either
