Ubisoft Montreal have so called, "target boxes" representing the possible specifications of microsoft's next gen console and they a supposedly getting the dev kits before this year's end for a xmas 2012 release.

Also, a,"Sony-owned studio has now ceased PlayStation 3 development, its entire focus having shifted to the console’s successor. The studio is also said to have been involved in the development process of the graphics technology adopted by Sony’s new hardware."

If, it's true, It's looking likely R6P could be a next gen title.

Thanks for that article. My bet is this: FYI, I'm a huge SC fan more than any other Ubi game. SCC was 360 exclusive. Currently SC6 is in development but not official. what if Ubi pulls another exclusive, meaning show SC6 at E3 2012, release it around Christmas time and say, "exclusively on Xbox 720." (or whatever they want to call it) My bet is that. As for RB6P, it probably will be next gen game. They said 2013 release but since it's Ubi and not AC it'll actually release 2014.

My bet is, that the game will be released in March 2013.

It could very well be a first wave title of the new XBox.

I mean that shouldn´t be a big problem as it would be similar to the PC version (technically).

@Dieinthedark: 2014 sounds right, I don't think they've developed anything concrete! Look what happened with I am Alive and Beyond Good and Evil 2.

Hmm, according to Pest_AWCs thread, the game is in development since 2009...

Regarding the "next gen" version:

Ubi may know in the meantime the release dates of MS and Sonys new machines, but they only announced R6P for PC, 360 and PS3 so far.
That makes sense as they otherwise would confirm a release date or period for the new consoles.

We´ll have to wait and see i guess.

Let´s hope for a mp beta in the near future.

@FuchsXSX: Hopefully, but nothing seems finalised, the gameplay trailer itself is a concept gameplay trailer. It might have got released for the sake of reception? That's why I believe they might not be too far into development and the trailer was prematurely released, so they could have other ideas.

I actually think R6P will be on 360 and PS3. all the interviews i've seen about the features that will be in the game don't sound like next-gen. I mean, if it will be a next-gen game the target video sure is very underwhelming. Well, i'm not a developer but i would defenatly make a Rainbow game with a much more complex surrounding in a sandbox. More then 2 points of entry would be awesome. O, i'm just dreamin.....

Since the game has been in development for almost 3 years and the gameinformer magazine reviewer got to play it, I think they are already pretty far along in development.

Most likely, the next year will be fine tuning everything and creating animations and maps as well as balancing weapons.

The game will be Xbox360 and PS3 and PC. This has already been announced.

Any "Next Gen" stuff would be a later port unless UBI does another Ghost Recon Future Soldier type fiasco and scraps current plans and completely changes direction.
