Look around you for a way to power things temporairly and then permanently. This may take some time and speed to do..

um, well, i experimented...i stepped on the mesh thingy and got the cylindar to rise..that sounds really stupid Can you give me a bit more detail? I bet ualready finished this puzzle, didn't you??

you can't do everything in one 'cycle' of the power cylinder. In other words, try to keep power going...

ummmm..how? is it that crank w/the plaque that shows the forks in the little line?

How do you get the power going to begin with? Step on the footpad to raise the cylinder right? Keep the power on as you experiment with the sliders (or levers or whatever you call them) and the foot-pads by the gear thing in the front of the room, you'll get it.
