Thread: Ubisoft, you've lost a From Dust PC sale | Forums

  1. #1
I'm posting here to vent my frustration and dissatisfaction of Ubisoft's corporate policy of using draconian always on DRM with From Dust PC. I was fully planning on buying From Dust through Steam day one. Because of your choice of DRM I am no longer buying this game at all on any platform.

Sure, I might miss out on a innovative and fun new game. The thing is I'm not at a lack for interesting entertainment, I'll simply play something else. I'm voting with my wallet here and I'd like Ubisoft to know that their DRM has lost them a sale. It is depressing that some who work for Ubisoft call this a "Success".

    Thank you.

Quick Edit: Does anyone know of email addresses or other means of letting Ubisoft know about this? What about an email for Eric Chahi or other members of the From Dust team?

    Hello and welcome,

Try to keep the DRM-discussion in the DRM thread so it's easier to follow.

As for contact information: I wouldn't know. Try googling UbisoftGroup or something.

As KZarr says there is a thread for DRM complaints to be ringfenced and ignored.

Also worth noting From Dust is not actually infected with the malware and only uses the normal internet activation the rest of the industry thinks is worthwhile.

Mind you the PC platform would be best served by ignoring ALL ubi titles until this mess is finally over.

That is not the reason, so I would prefer you do not give people misinformation, unless it's an attempt to troll?

We ask that everyone post's in the same thread, so it's easy to ensure no comments or questions are missed.

As you may have seen recently, we do look at the thread, pass on those comments and answer any questions we can, in that thread... such as the recent issue of From Dust and DRM.

From Dust does not require an always on connection, however it does require a one time only activation.

I will lock this thread, since as already pointed out, it should be in the DRM thread.
