Thread: Restore game problems | Forums

  1. #1
I've got Myst (1994) running under Windows 2000 SP 4. Everything is working fine except for restoring a saved game. I get the dialog "ERROR The CD in the CD-ROM drive is not the Myst CD.
Please insert the Myst CD and press Retry.", yet the CD drive is not accessed. I can not eject the CD either. This seems like a driver issue of some sort, but I can find no information on how to fix. Advice would be appreciated greatly.
    Regards,
    Chuck

I've just installed Myst 10th Anniversary Edition. I'm running XP and have no problems with running any of the games.

    BUT...

I just started playing MYST and the question I have is when I Save or Save As, seems to work fine, and I see the saved file in the folder I specified. But when I restore the game it always starts in the library, is this normal? I can get back to where I was quickly from here, but thought it should bring me back right to where I was.

    TIA

Yes, it's normal for saved games to take you back to the library on load. Your progress has been saved, just not your location .
