Thread: Should I get Vegas or GRAW? | Forums

  1. #1
Which of these two games would you recommend me getting? Tried the singleplayer demo of both and actually enjoyed both of them, but it's always difficult to judge a game on a short demo
If any of you got both, which one is the most enjoyable game and why?

    Thanks in advance

i prefer GRAW by a mile.

dont like the Vegas cover system.

no splitscreen over Live, system link,or with any adversarial gametypes at all in Vegas[only 2 player co-op splitscreen locally on one 360],up to 4 players splitscreen in GRAW for local and systemlink[cant remember if its 2 or 4 on Live].....

there are a ton more options/variations and gametypes for adversarial and co-op in GRAW.

GRAW weapons are much more balanced and realistic......

graw 2 is coming out in the not so distant future. I'd say get GRAW if you're more interested in single player, get Rainbow if you're more interested in multiplayer. If you just pick up GRAW today and go play some online verses modes, you'll get sniped every time you run 4 steps out of your spawn...you'll be too far behind the learning curve and you'll have to be more persistent than most gamers are prepared to be. rainbow is an easier learning curve and while people are already being cheap, i think you'll have a better chance to compete than in graw. but you should get both, they're both great games in different ways

i couldnt disagree more,if you're interested in single player only/mostly its about a toss-up but i'd go with Vegas, for co-op and multiplayer GRAW is hands down the better game imo and extremely customizable to your liking[totally unlike Vegas].

Thanks for your answers so far

After having played the singleplayer demos of both, I think the controls seem to be more intuitive in vegas (like taking cover, shooting enemies and taking cover again), but maybe I just need more time with the graw controls...

On the other hand the maps in graw looks to be more open (I like zooming in to shoot terrorists from a distance ) than in vegas? Vegas looks more dark and I don't always notice when I actually kill an enemy or just hit him, or where you hit, which I think is easier in GRAW, partly due to that line the enemies get around them... am I correct on this one?

Another thing I noticed is that when you get hit in GRAW, you will move slowly.. aint this gonna be irritating when you play? :P

i think GRAW is a more demanding game, although there are alot of ...."crutches" available in the form of optional features.but if you're looking for something thats easier to "pick-up and play" maybe Vegas would be a better choice.

...and yes GRAW is more open and "sniper friendly".

I like the door-opening stuff in Vegas, where you can set your team ready at a door and enter another yourself, but the fighting is a lot more like a regular action-shooting game (at least at normal difficulty) than GRAW.. vegas might be a bit too much like Gears of War, just more realistic...

I think it's hard to decide between to quite similar games, but GRAW is almost half the price of Vegas..

I feel like the single player in Vegas is kinda boring...maybe its because I beat GRAW first and the games are similar. But yeah, GRAW has always been more of a long-range, outdoor game, whereas Rainbow is more close quarters, clearing rooms and buildings. And thats starting to be one of the only differences, as the actual graphics and controls are getting more and more similar between the two games. I like the Vegas multiplayer more than any multiplayer game I've ever played, GRAW included. But GRAW is damn good too, it held the Xbox down for over half a year when no other good multiplayer games were coming out...

With GRAW 2 coming out so soon, I'd get Rainbow. Plus, to play much online you'd need to buy the DLC maps, costing you even more money. There are some good maps in the original set, but the DLC maps are much nicer--even the relit original maps. If you like co-op, the chapter set up in GRAW is not all that great (it's not the SP campaign played co-op style like previously). More chapters in the DLC, but it's just not a good set up.
    Just my 2¢
