Well, I found all of the jackal's tapes, but when I go to the bar in the south region the journalist isn't there so I cant turn them over to get the achievement. Anyone know how to get him to reappear?

Hi, i have exactly the same problem. i haven't found Reuben there either, and because of that, i have began to search the world. havent found him there neither...please help us?

Have you tried heading BACK to Mike's Bar at the beginning?
I was told to bring my tapes found to him after ive collected them.. BUT i wa salso told NOT to continue to the SOUTH if i still had Jackal tapes or else I'd lose that achievement.


Its very very confusing. One group says DONT go south at ALL or you'll completely ruin the Jackal tapes event.. BUT ive looked and looked all over the north and cannot find 9 names in total.. i have 8.. which also included the one Given to me at the start. Map tapes locations showed me where they all were , but for some reason One STILL eludes me.

So maybe you should try heading to Mike's Bar again to find Reuben.

I remember finding only 5 or 6 of the tapes, still having the quest working 100% how it's supposed to be. Reuben was in the "Marina Bar" waiting for me, we did chat for a while, and that was it - the mission was done.

Okay.. I need to update this AND ask someone who may know a question:

Now I JUST found my 9th and Final Tape in the North part ( first Map) section and brought them to reuben in Mike's Bar.
I got nothing!

Absolutely nothing.. and I dont mean i got no weapons or diamonds.. i already knew that.. Im SUPPOSED to get an Achievement!
Unless there is some Bullish method ( MUST get the tapes in an EXACT order for example) These Tapes are utterly useless aside from the fact they reveal alot more about the Jackal that we started with and we SHOULD find hes not such an oppratunistial Buttfloss but in fact isnt such a bad guy. he cant stop the wars, but he is at least TRYING to balance them out and NOT pick a side.

Can someone please explain to me how this Side-quest with reuben and these tapes is supposed to go down?

I THOUGHT if you got all 9 tapes ( 8 found and 1 Given) in the north and gave them to reuben in Mike's Bar , there was supposed to be some SORT of reward.. but all he says is.. "I cant reward you cause Im a poor SOB journalist. THANKS for the tapes tho!" and thats it.

This has to be wrong.. what IS the point of wasting time getting all those tapes in the places they actually are ( some are hard) and have NO point to it?

There are one I can confirm in the south. Under a hut you find on the island where you go get the weapons in the first mission on the south.
