Thread: unable to view from ground perspective :( | Forums

1. #1
Hi all I've the problem I'not able to set my "camera" view from any ground obyect (eg. want to see action from a tank/aaa position/cars column etc. I have all views commands mapped into keyboard (like next enemy ground/chase view etc..) but I'm not able to see action from terrains groundforces.Any suggestion about what may be the fault? Thank in advance for help.

Hello italianfalco,

Are you having this problem in missions you have created yourself or by others? In order to 'see' the action on the ground, the mission creator has to have placed static cameras in the mission at appropriate places.

You're not doing anything wrong. It's not possible to 'attach' a camera to an object/vehicle.

The Camera(s) simply float in the air at the altitude you designate in the FMB.

External view is only available from aircraft; ground units do not have this ability.

Make sure you have a key set to look at he cameras you have placed in the mission.

[HotKey aircraftView]
C=changeCockpit
F1 = CockpitView
Ctrl F1 = CockpitShow
Shift F1=cockpitAim
F2 = OutsideView
Shift F2 = NextView
Ctrl F2 = NextViewEnemy
F3 = OutsideViewFly
F4 = PadlockView
Shift F4 = PadlockViewFriend
F5 = PadlockViewGround
Shift F5 = PadlockViewFriendGround
U = PadlockViewNext
Y = PadlockViewPrev
NumPad-0 = PadlockViewForward
F6 = ViewEnemyAir
Alt F6 = ViewEnemyDirectAir
Shift F6 = ViewFriendAir
F7 = ViewEnemyGround
Alt F7 = ViewEnemyDirectGround
Shift F7 = ViewFriendGround
F8 = OutsideViewFollow
Shift F8 = NextViewFollow
Ctrl F8 = NextViewEnemyFollow
Delete = fov30
End = fov70

Hmm..and then what's about (under setting.ini):

[HotKey aircraftView]
F7 = ViewEnemyGround <<<<< ??
Alt F7 = ViewEnemyDirectGround <<<< ??

even if I tryed to set this into conf.ini and don't work I really think there's a chance to have this visual.. may be good 4 a mod?

Those are two of your default control commands. F7 is 'External Padlock,Enemy Ground' and Alt+F7 is 'External Padlock,Closest Enemy Ground'.

To clarify, they are views from your aircraft to a ground object and will only work if:

You have the No external views difficulty setting turned off; AND

There is a ground object of the relevant type within padlock range.[/list]
