Thread: OT: E2Give spyware--any help? | Forums

Sorry to be OT but I've picked up E2give adware on my machine and it's a wicked nuisance getting it off. So far I've tried the following:
    1) Spybot and Adaware detect it and erase several files from it, but obviously not all of them because it comes back in full almost immediately. I run both programs in safe mode with system restore turned off per someone's long-ago suggestion, but it makes no difference.
    2) I have RegCleaner which detects it under "software." I remove it, but it immediately comes back. I've also removed everything with E2G in my computer that I can find.
    3) I've googled it and have found some sites with manual removal instructions. But I can find neither the processes nor the files they say E2G puts on a computer.
    4) Occasionally a whole new folder (!) called "E2G" is created in my program files folder. I can delete it as much as I like, along with everything else related to E2G, but no luck.

Is this a new variety of E2G? Could anyone give me some help getting rid of this aggravating spyware? Thanks for any replies!

    Thanks PF_Coastie--
I did try that site, but when I did the commands in the dos prompt section a message came up saying "specified module not found." I'll keep fooling around with it...thanks for your help!
