When I open the game the little update searching thing pops up, it says there are no new updates needed, the game starts to load but it doesnt open. There's no error message, no nothing..whatdo i do..please help me its really ****ing me off i bought it from steam. got a cd key but it says invalid cd key

OK, first - Uninstall the game, the auto patcher causes problems for many people updating straight to 1.06. Go to the USEFUL LINKS thread, and use the links for updates. Reinstall the game, and try updating to 1.05 then 1.06.

The invalid CD key problem can be solved by following the steps found here. It may take a few days to get your new CD key, but it will give you time to play the single player campaign and terrorist hunt modes, and get used to the gameplay
