Just a suggestion to Rhoulette. You say that you like to read Sci-Fi, and alot of other things. I wonder, have you read any of the "Dragonlance" series? I know that I find it to be one of, if not the best series of things I have read. Just a heads up, maybe someone else out there has read anything in the series. Comments apreciated.

I used to have a few dragonlance books, but never really got into them. With a few exceptions I prefer fantasy that deviates from the normal elves & dragons formula... I'm into the more personal alternate world stories that focus on a few specific characters who are very human in the way they think and feel and act. I like stories that tip morals upside down and ask interesting questions about social values too. Call me a rebel.

Clive Barker's great for fantasy, but I don't know if it can qualify as Sci-Fi. Abarat or Imajica would be good books to go with, though, assuming you haven't already.

I'm really not one for fiction, nor much sci-fi, but in all the discussions on this forum I haven't heard H.P. Lovecraft mentioned. For a short life, he produced a goodly amount of horror/fantasy/esoterica short stories and novelettes. Recommended.

I heard Ender's Game is a good read if you're into Sci-fi. My brother loved it.

Edit: other than that I suggest The Tao of Pooh
