Thread: Realistic mode is broken - game loads in Normal mode. | Forums

Read this elsewhere as well, but there seems to be no discussion on it.

Started a new game on realistic mode. First part of the first level (Mexico) played through fine, definitely on realistic mode. I shut down my console, loaded my game back up later, and now the game is on Normal mode. Obvious as the crosshairs turn red when they're over an enemy, and I can take a crapload of bullets before I die.

This is quite a massive oversight. Anyone else experiencing this?

its a glitch. if you played yr first campaign in normal mode it does that. i started off on realistic and it works fine. i guess wait for a patch or delete your save. im sorry

Yea Ive run into this too. It sucks and all but if you really want to finish the realistic mode. Stay away from the co-op entirely. It messes around with the Sp checkpoint on your Hard drive, reverting it back to your normal difficulty, or to an entirely different checkpoint. It's a sucky resolution to finishing the SP campaign. But if you didn't think of it already I would do that.(If you really want the achievement or whatever) I finished Realistic mode this way, just so you know. Or u can wait for the patch to come out if you can't live without co-op... in a nutshell.

From my testing, it's really broken and reproducible. At least, with the prerequisite that you've played through the single player game already on normal mode.

Alrighty. I deleted all my R6:V data - saved game, multiplayer info, etc. There's no remnant of R6:V left except for the achievements.

Started a new game on Realistic. Made it to the first checkpoint. Quit out of the game back to the Dashboard. Started the game up again, and it's in Normal mode!

I guess playing through on co-op mode may be different, so I guess folks could have gotten the Realistic achievement that way... but I doubt anyone has actually gotten the achievement on single player mode, working through the game in story mode.

It's a block bug. Means the game is not playable, and means I should get my $60 back.

I did...But I never once played SP in normal mode. I don't know if that's the problem though, because if it was I'd think nuking all of the game saves like you did would reset it.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
