How many new U-boats are offered? | Forums

Early November 1939, returned to base and was offered a new sub. I accepted and it was a VIIB. I was expecting a VIIC, which I got on the previous career. The first were commissioned beginning of November 1940.

There were a lot of complaints in the forum that the VIIB wasn't offered - that's clearly wrong. My question is, I don't want to get stuck with a VIIB. Will I be offered a VIIC at some point? Also, will I be offered a VIIC/41? The first should become available in August '43.

Also, what happens if you don't accept? Do you only get once chance or, by waiting does that improve your odds of being offered a VIIC later?

The VIIB thing was a bug that was fixed. I haven't really looked into when you get what or why, I was just happy to finally have the VIIB.

I edited a typo in my original post.

In any case, if SH5 is now working correctly, I should be offered the other subs - that's the way it worked in SH4. In SH3, you just bought subs if you had enough renown.

Also, in the for-what-it's-worth category, I was offered "tiger stripe" camo.

Hmm.. interesting, haven't seen that yet! My first campaign I only got 1 mission into Happy Times, then I restarted a bunch of campaigns and I'm just now getting back to Feb, 1940 in my VIIB.

And I'm up to December 1939. I still have a career that is into Winter 1942: Arctic Convoys. However, other than Total Germany, I failed every other campaign. I'm hoping to do better with the restart. I still plan on returning to the Artic Convoy campaign so as to test out air strikes.

you will get the viic-41 but its at the beginning of 43 so not much time to enjoy it... the game ends on the 1st of june. i used seawolf's gunsub beta for a viic-41 at the beginning of the war, complete with 1 heavy flak, 2 light flak and a deck gun

17 August 1940 - docked Lorient with VIIB. Offered new boat. Accepted and got VIIC.

Now, all you need do is wait for Ubisloth to release the second half of the war.
Which will most likely require additional funds.
