The problem is the game-engine and your personal taste. The blur seems to be normal.

You could try to turn of the in-game Multisampling and leave AA On. That way people are reporting much better results.

If you type "Blurry" in the <STRIKE>find</STRIKE> function at the top of the page you come up with all kinds of Awnsers .

Basically it's as buggy as the rest of the games Ubisoft puts out. I've always wondered if it was just pure poor QA on Ubisoft's part or if they are suffering low income as of late, forcing them to push products sooner than they should. I know they gave AC2 some more time this time around.

    ^^^ This ^^^

I think the post processing effects look great in S7. It looks like a cartoon. You pay good framerate for those effects and people want to switch it off!

It was the same when Bloom first came out and then again with HDR. Prince of Persia, Sand of Time used an excessive amount of bloom effects, which created this eerie, magical, twilight. It was very effective and putting people into this romantic, 'Arabian Nights' style adventure but what did people say? "Too much blurry light! How do I switch it off! Don't like it!"

Personally, I don’t think the game is made to look burry by design. None of the official video presentations or screen shots show the level of blurriness a lot of us are experiencing. Also, Anti-aliasing is there to smooth pixel edges, not blur the view, and I think the same can be said for Multisampling.

When Bloom and HDR came out it brought a level of realism that, depending on the type of game, can sometimes hinder your view. Not everyone likes to get blinded by the sunlight when they leave a dark area, especially when the plan was to jump out to kill a target In multiplayer games, HDR and Bloom can hinder my performance. But in other games it looks really cool

I guess my point is that The Settlers 7 is not suppose to look blurry, and you don’t need to make the game blurry to make it look like a cartoon. When was the last time you watched a blurry cartoon ??

I refuse to believe anyone would prefer the blurry effects.
I was really excited when I downloaded the demo, because I had seen some videos of the game and thought it looked great, except the blurryness which I thought was due to bad quality of the video, not the game.
When I banged the graphics up to max and started the game I felt like puking. It was such a disapointment I just pressed escape and exit instantly.
When I get home today I will try some of the things people wrote here and in other posts about the AA and MS and really hope it fixes the problem.

Trust me. Turn off your AA and MS and all is fine.

I can confirm this as well - Turn off your AA and MS and all is fine.

Not sure why the game looks so meh with the high end settings enabled, but turning them off makes the game look the way you'd expect it to.
