Thread: What is the best game of the Prince of Persia series | Forums

I voted Two Thrones. I love the entire Sands of time story, but this gave the closure I needed. Story means a great deal to me. And I have to disagree with Keksus on the gameplay: The quicktime events were an option, not mandatory until boss fights. besides, I loved the stealth feature, a great change of pace from the hack and slash of WW and SoT.

But every time I want to play this one, I like to hear the whole story, so I play all three games.

I think gameplay wise, PoP 2008 is better than WW, but not as good as the other 2. Story wise, it's incomplete, so I can't fully appreciate it yet. (Classic is just a time wasting activity, I just play it when I don't have time to immerse myself. No real story and somewhat frustrating control at times.)
I await the coming of the storm. With no shield or weapon, I anticipate the nearing onslaught without fear.
Oh, yeah, and I would also like a sandwich.

The Sands of time was more than great to, even a little better than tTT, but because of the combat and lower graphics cutscenes, I'd have to say two thrones.

A week ago, i would have been like OMG WW YEAHH.

But recently, i replayed the PoPs and did them all in a day or two each(thats fast for me, but i have WAY too much time right now), and i gotta say SoT is my fave. The story telling, the way the characters developed and the relationships between Farah and the Prince were all done extremely well. The combat left one feeling slightly disappointed, but the atmosphere, environments and everything else made up for it.

I love WW for the fighting though. And i am a metal fan, and the whole dark atmosphere was cool too. But they overdid it a little if you ask me, and it really didnt fit as a Prince of Persia thing. If it was a seperate game, without the prince of persia name itd fit well, but i dont know the two together didn't really work. Oh and the prince swearing was a little over the top lol.

The two thrones was good, but i wish you actually worked WITH farah liek in SoT. and combat got slightly more limited than WW (some loss of time powers and moves). But the dark prince was gud, and added a cool element to the story. adn they ended it nicely.

I havent played PoP 2008 but i plan to buy it one of these days :P

Okay after that i think im gonna replay SoT AGAIN now...lol

    ampotya,

Please don't post all in capital letters as it's considered shouting/yelling.

    Thanks.

Each of the first five have enjoyable elements, so I vote for all five of them.
1- amazingly entertaining in 1990. Kept my interest for months.
2- wonderful sequel to the first. Marvelous backgrounds, fighting skeletons and floating decapitated heads.
3- although containing bugs, it was quite innovative. Save the game where you wanted to was awesome. Multiple weapons and potions, swimming, and the most difficult finale (until the Two Thrones)
4- Reinvigorated the franchise. Superb plot! Wonderful backgrounds. It took me weeks to understand and master the various fighting techniques, manage the time rewind status circle, etc
5- What a complex plot! Battles even on the easy difficulty were difficult for a while. I luckily avoided the bugs. Having defeated the Empress a second time, I was satisfied with the ending until I learned there was an alternate ending. I discovered all secondary weapons, all bonus weapons, all artwork chests, all Life Upgrades etc. to then defeat the Dahaka.

I played each game within months of its release ... so I enjoyed each new game's features and challenges as the "state of the art" of PC gaming in its own time.

Enjoyed! (and I continue to enjoy replaying each of those games about once a year.)

Now this is the answer I'd have waited to hear since the start of the thread.

[i] T2T apparently had many faults. Right so...the prince's SOT voice came back, Farah suddenly became arrogant and annoying (with a whole new voice as well), and Kaileena went from being the empress to becoming a hippie.

Warrior Within was always my personal favourite, and it's nice to see it doing well in this poll. Everything about it was just brilliant - the gameplay, the combat, the soundtrack, the plot...

True, but for some reason many people still hate it. I am not pointing any fingers to any of you here, I am talking about people in video game forums who tell their opinion about the games. They all just bash Warrior Within and praise T2T fanaticly because it'S ''Like SoT''. What the **** is just wrong with people?

This is the same reason why games like Cold Fear or Second Sight get so damn underated because people just stick to the big games. Meh.
