Thread: A few questions. | Forums

    Hello,

I am a huge fan of the Splinter Cell series. I own both the original, and Chaos Theory (sadly, I missed out on Pandora Tomorrow). Something about high-tech espionage is just extremely cool. I just have a few questions about the upcoming Double Agent.

The system requirements listed on Wikipedia, and the Ubistore (3.00 GHz CPU, 1GB RAM, GPU which supports SM3.0) are pretty steep. Are these the minimum or recommended specs?

I just ordered a few new parts for my computer, and it should look like this after all is said and done..

Intel P4 Prescott CPU 3.00 GHz OC'd to 3.6 GHz
    2GB DDR2 SDRAM (PC4300) - 533MHz
eVGA 7900 GT KO OC'd to GTX speeds (using the volt mod)
    Antec 500W HE PSU

How do you think this will handle the game?

Is the multiplayer portion of the game being developed by the same studio that did the multiplayer portion of Chaos Theory?

And, does the story of Double Agent tie in with any past titles?

    Thanks in advance.

You'll be fine. You can probably run DA Singleplayer at 1600x1200 with settings set to high and get 50+ FPS easy, even moreso in Multiplayer since it's using a less advanced engine than the modified SCX one (still worlds better than CT's SvM engine)

Multiplayer for PC and XB360 is being developed by Shanghai, I believe.

It was said in some review (no link) that the events of DA take place right after the events from CT. So it's moreso a continuation.

    Hey,

Could anybody verify the statement above.

How will my computer be able to run the game.

And are the specs listed the recommended, or minimum?

    Thanks.

You'll be able to run it fine. I'd say on the high-part, depending on the resolution.

There arent any confirmed official specs, but the Ubi shop says: 3GHz CPU, 1GB RAM and a SM3-capable GFX card. You meet all of those requirements

If I remember correctly, DA happens a few months after CT.

And multiplayer was and still is developped in Annecy, France, ever since SC2.

I'm guessing Double Agent uses some form of HDR, as SM3.0 is a requirement.

Will it allow AA + SM3.0 in junction, or will I be forced to run a lower SM (like 1.1 or 2.0) in order to enable AA?

I ask because the max resolution on my monitor is 1204 by 1280, and without AA, I notice jaggies, which bother me a lot.
