I am in a new age but find myself on a balcony looking down what looks like an old city. There is a large stone with some drawing on it blocking a door. Where am I and how do I get to that city.

I believe thats for the Live part of Uru.

thanks, there is a machine where you put your hand. it makes a couple of sounds and does nothing.

That balcony is actually above the Neighborhood, which you will get to visit in Live. You will be able to walk around down where you can see.

That machine just put your KI on your hand. Utterly useless in the offline game.
