Thread: Personal Trainer problem - can't get past Mat sync test/demo | Forums

Got the xbox 360 4gb kinect bundle and got your shape fitness evolved. The game recognizes me, no problem detecting my movements at all. The issue is when going to the personal trainer, it has you go through the demo, trying to sync up you with the trainer on the matt. No matter what I do moving or not moving, the trainer always seems to freeze up after the first side to side motion. i can still go pause and go through all the menus and choose other activities. Even switched game for another copy. Below is a screenshot of where the trainer always seems to freeze

Can't get past this so can't even use the personal trainer. Very frustrating. Any suggestions?

This sounds serious. Have you tried calling or emailing customer support? The only thing I can think to try, other than customer support, is to install the game on to your XBox hard drive if you have enough room. That has cured freezes for me in some cases.

Sent email to support. Waiting to hear back now. Will try installing to hard drive, hopefully I have enough space. Thanks.

It's weird, this is the only thing that doesn't work with the kinect. Other activities in your fitness work, also other kinect games work without any problem. Just the trainer gets lazy and completely freezes in that position and can't get past that part...

Didn't get much help from Support except some canned response in email for stuff I already tried. Could never get through to them on phone cause always working during the week.

So I ended up returning the 4GB 360 and got the 250GB and no problems now. Don't mess with the 4GB 360s!

Glad you got the issue sorted out! I think you'll be happier with the 250gb drive anyway, especially if you plan to play other games too. The 4gb is nowhere near enough space and you would end up having to spend more than the 250gb bundle buying additional drives for it.

Concerning xbox support, I've had far better response from Xbox Support on Twitter than sending an issue through the website. No canned responses on Twitter. They even tried to help me with my Zen squat issue with this game in case it was a problem with the Kinect sensor, but we both came to the conclusion that it was more likely to be an Ubisoft problem.

Actually I have run into what may be a related issue...

I have the game installed locally to the hard drive, and when I do fitness programs, it does occassionally seem to lag for long periods in between different exercises. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a quick fix for this?
