Thread: Computer doesn't move (even if it's a 5 min blitz game) - loses on time | Forums

    Dear All

I dunno what it is with my CM11.
I set up a 5 min bltz game, and after the
usual flurry of opening moves, the computer
opponent (CM, Tal, Morphy, etc) doesn't move.
It just "sits" there with the timer running.
    0:03, 0:02, 0:00, pause, then -0:01, -0:02...etc !!!
    Huh?
Anyone with the same problem? Any suggestions?

    Regards
    Frankie

    Dear kamboonseng,

    I had a similar problem ...

I have a AMD Athlon X2 Dual and i found that if i play with only one CPU, i have no longer the problem.

    How i do it ...

I run CM11 and just after i open the task manager and change the affinity of game.exe to CPU 0 !

    I hope it could help.

    Dear GalaxieYves

Thanks. Yes, I too am using an AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual core PC. I did what you suggested and now the King moves! Good. Thank you very much!

However, I find that CM11 AI opponents do not know how to play BLITZ games! For example in a 5-min game, one should play fast moves. If you have 1 or 2 minutes left on the clock, you don't wanna take 5 or 6 seconds to think. You take 0.5 to 2 seconds.

In this respect Fritz is better at blitz games as in Fritz, the AI makes moves in 0.1 seconds flat if need be. Right?

    Frankie.
