Great Games that got cancelled | Forums

Okay guys, today most of the games are either sequels or reboot or remakes, we got very few new IPs every year, which i understand due to the constant demand on making more money

Anyway i made this thread so we can share and discuss great looking games that got canned/cancelled or put on indefinite hold

I will start with few games for now

Cipher Complex
This by the Devs word was a new stealth approach, this is very different from our SCC, but the devs had similar vision in making you not slow, but more bada$$ and a killing machine, this game from my point of view could have had potential, it goes back 2007 or earlier so forgive the graphics and the bad video, this is just how it would look like

Harker
This is the first vampire game i get excited about, it is dark, violent, and atmospheric, aslo it is an adventure game, brutal execution, and true visualization of vampires (not the awkward Twilight)
I have been building some concept work on this game, so maybe one day i can buy it and develop it as my own game, probably it is not possible

Eight Days
This game is put on hold along side with The Getaway 3, i don't know if the devs will ever say anything about, or if it will ever surface up, but check it out, it is cool cinematic action game, span around 8 days, probably will feature Co-Op

I have seen 8 Days. I have seen the cover system test video. It is phenomenal. Kinda similar to SCC cover, the fluidity, but it is more advanced.

sam2000_290 i guess the cover system serves 8 Days best, while the SCC cover system fits it perfect



kipphopopotomus : the starcraft game reminds me alot with SC1, got the same vibe when you draw your rifle, so i must say amazing

I think this game looks kinda like Alan Wake in terms of the atmosphere, yet it is still different somehow, another new IP in a new location, unexplored before by horror gone to waste

This. So hard. It ****es me off that the developers sacrificed their artistic vision just to appeal to some fans.

Anyways...the only other game that's coming to mind right now is Ender's Game: Battle Room, a game that was going to let you play out the zero-G battles from the novel.

Two games that were never made, not necessarily cancelled. NOLF 3 and ROTT's sequel.

There were rumors from Chris Miller who worked on NOLF2,that there was to be a third and final installment. But then when Sierra got lost in the buyout and shuffle and then Sierra's game FEAR overshadowed anything else that Sierra had done..that was it's death knell. I really liked that series because IMO it kind of introduced stealth to game play. It took me away from the FPS games.

ROTT by Apogee (later 3D Realms) was also rumored to have a sequel. It was originally supposed to be an expansion to Wolfenstein 3D. But it became a game of it's own. But then that game became overshadowed by Apogee's other fps game Duke Nukem. And eventually things fall by the wayside.

The Crossing : I like the concept, even though it may lead to a mess
They : I think it might be good to portray the alien in a horror title of FPS

Oh yes, I was kind of waiting for this FPS for long, but yes it's been cancelled....too bad. Anyway, thanks for the info. It's also been listed as cancelled over here at Gamepressure, for all the platforms:
