    LOL! I'm sorry for laughing, but I had the same thing happen like 2 weeks ago. It wasn't old mascara that got me, but old eyeliner.

    I now always wash my eyes out with baby shampoo after I take off my make up.

    And it's very important not to sleep with eye make up on!

    This is my lazy way to clean makeup brushes: soak them in hydrogen peroxide to kill all the bacteria, then clean with baby shampoo. I go through mascaras pretty quickly, but I am guilty of wearing liquid foundation that is super old.
