These skins have been submitted to mission4today and should be available soon!

Some more info on these planes...

42-3441 "Spotted Cow" was originally named "Patches II" and flew 61 combat missions before becoming an assembly ship.

I think I need my vision checked after making this one. I keep seeing spots!!

41-9100 FR*U "Birmingham Blitzkrieg" was actually a B-17E. This plane was flown by the 379th Bomb Group as an assembly ship and target tug. It was originally used by the 97th Bomb Group during some of the first Eighth Air Force bombing missions in 1942.

This one was actually more difficult to skin than Spotted Cow. The horrible mapping and warping on this model is plainly evident in several spots, especially on the underside.

As the title says, they were used as Assembly ships for formations. They took off and acted as the lead bomber until the formation was up and in position, then they turnt over command to the real lead bomber and went home. High vis paint schemes helped pilots see where to form up. I knew it was done a fair bit with B24s but only until Jarink and Duggy over at M4T started discussing did I realise that some B17s were used in this way too!
Very cool stuff by the way Jarink! Those B17s are nasty buggers to skin at the best of times let alone these crazy schemes!

I'll be nabbing these, thank you very much. they look like a lot of fun to play in. Not so much to make, by the sounds of things.
    Thanks!

You should see some of the B-24s they used. Somebody must've been really bored.

Spotted Cow is fairly famous it even crops up on model aircraft websites, I presume there is a kit around for it. Birmingham Blitzkrieg is a rarer bird.

Excellent skins. It would be awesome if people started using these in missions and campaigns..
