Thread: Update 4.07 - 4.08 crash | Forums

    Hi there!

    I used the search function before posting this but to no avail. Problem here is - I bought 1946 DVD 4.07. Game is running fine on XP. Now want to upgrade to 4.08 then probably to .09 so I can use all those great mods that are availabe. Anyway, downloaded the .08 patch from Ubisoft - ran the exe file, game starts and shows 4.08 version - but then the famous 5% crash. Game does not load at all. When reinstalling the original versio (i.e. .07) the game is running fine again. Any help at hand for me? Greatly appreciated!

    Try downloading the patch from www.mission4today.com and try again.

    Doesn´t work :-(. Now it doesn´t even show 4.08 but stays with 4.07... I noticed however that the file you recommended from mission4today is 144mb in size vs. 127mb for the one from ubi.
    Any other ideas how I can make it work? Thanks!

    Try "installing " the patch to a folder on your desktop, once you have a folder full of files then you can just copy/pate the files into your game folder and choose to overwrite.

    You have downloaded the WRONG patch from Ubi.com.

    The dedicated server patch is 128 MB. Ubi also has the game patch (listed above the server patch) and 145MB size.

    THIS is a direct link to the 144MB game patch from patches.ubi.com
    Never download a patch with "server" in it's name to patch the game. When downloading 4.09m (VERY big) make sure you download the game patch and make sure it is the English version one. There is a Russian 4.09m too as well as a dedicated server 4.09m patch. Make a backup copy of your entire game before installing any mod. Better yet get to know the game first.

    Thanks so much for the hints! And guess what? Yep, it worked - unpacked the file individually then copied into game directory. Now running on 4.08m w/o the crash . So now next step getting some nice mods... THX!!!
