Random Game crash to desktop | Forums

Okok so i have looked at other threads with people having game crashes to desktop and there be no werror messages.

but it seems ones i have read have been with ATI cards?

i am having the same problem but game wont even last 10 minutes without it just quitting to desktop with no error message. I've chcked other games (crysis) played for hours and hours on end and had no problem so cant be temp getting too hot etc.

Immusing windows vista 32bit qwith GTX 280 EVGA card dominator 2GB RAM im just wondering if anyone else had this problem and fixed it and could share its driving me insane i have tried so much but couldnt find a fix

I have this same problem. Its apparently random (just played for an hour before it crashed). Same exact type of crash, to desktop no error message.

Specs:
ATI 4870 (8.10 Hotfix drivers)
Vista 64bit
8gb RAM

I too have the same problem. I can play for an hour or so then it shows a black screen for one second then goes to desktop with no error message at all.

Specs:
AMD Phenom 9950 2.6ghz Quad Core
2 ATI Radeon 4870's in crossfire (8.10 drivers)
Vista Ultimate 64bit
4gb RAM

Same problem here guys - mega frustrating because the game is so good but now ive got to save every 5 mins to avoid losing where i am. on another forum some people think it could be direct x, try turning it to dx9 - although i havent had any difference. also i had thought it was just ati cards but obviously not.

that is ridiculous that the hotfix doesnt even help.

btw my pc is :
vista 32
4 gb corsair dominator
amd phenom 9850 @ 2.7
ati 3870 x2

hope someone finds solution soon - looks like a common problem - btw what specs are you guys runing at (all v.high, 2xaa 1680x1050)

very high, 4xaa, DX10, 1440x900 in Windowed mode. Fullscreen mode doesn't work. So many bugs.

Did you try to hit alt+enter, this is what I do to make it full screen, I think its in a sticky on here somewhere. I get the same random crashes to desktop also.

if I start the game in Fullscreen mode the menus are laggy as hell, when in Windowed their fine. If I get to the game in windowed then alt+enter I get 1fps >.<

I get this in less than 10 minutes of gameplay every time. It is really hindering my ablity to play the game.
