I'm curious how some of you handle pre-ordering. Do you bother with the official website?

I noticed Ubisoft has a pre-order option on their site for $10.00 off what an X-Box retail game would sell for. But, there's no information regarding how soon you would get it. I mean, I want my game in my hands the minute the release date day begins. If that's not possible, at least as soon as the first store opens. Has anyone ever pre-ordered from Ubisoft and gotten it on time or before hand? (Like a day early?)

Also, I'm curious if there are any deals to look into with pre-ordering from other stores. I wouldn't mind a free player's manual, or some bonus options in my game. Any thoughts?

I'll be pre-ordering through EB Games here in BC, Canada. I don't ever buy online. Will there be a Brady's game book I wonder?
