    I'm having a problem with stutters, pauses mostly in campaign, have heard IRQ's sharing can cause this, How do I go about checking this? And how do I change it AMD Athlon T XP 2400+ 1.99 GHz 512 MB ram AD 77 infinity Mobo kt 400 chip set Geforce 4 Ti 4800-se 128 MB ram Windows XP pro SP #1 Driver version 43.51 I'm using onboard sound, no card! And running in 4x SBA with fast wrights turned off, Fast wrights on causes windows to crash to default resolution after awhile? Also 8x SBA in open GL causes FB to flash, than freeze.

    Changing IRQ's in XP is a real bit@h! There are a couple of ways to do it the simplest being to move your cards around and reboot, then see what happens. You can't change the IRQ's in the bios, because XP will override them on boot. The most dramatic (and only sure) way to change them is to re-install XP and disable ACPI (which will cost you a lot of functionality and maybe some preformance) W/o ACPI you can assign IRQ's in bios.

    To find out if there are conflicts go to device manager (hit windows key + pause break key. go to hardware tab and open device manager) Select your video card and click properties. Select the resources tab and check the IRQ. Repeat w/ your sound card and if the IRQ is the same you MAY have a problem. Like I said you can swap around the pci cards from one slot to another and reboot. This may change the IRQ, but prob won't. Please don't consider disabling ACPI! It's really a lot more trouble than it's worth.

    Thanks georgeo76 No I won't disable ACPI I'm just learning much of this! I'd just notice some other post about IRQ's sharing but never an explanation of how they did it, I'm running pretty well with 30 too 40 FPS just pauses and stutters, in campaign, and always at the worst possible moment just when I'm about to hammer down! DOH !

    Again sorry it took me awhile to get it together, there's no function I know of to copy/past for IRQ's so I typed it out by hand hope this works! I can't type for crap! Well lets try this again

    If I disable plug play in bio's could I than chose IRQ's threw device properties resource, for each device?
