I installed the 1.02.1 patch and my Saitek Cyborg controller which worked before doesn't work at all now - neither does the mouse. Also, I don't see anything in the options menu that even indicates controller settings. Am I missing something?

@pzrzao - from within the game, you might want to try going into the Options menu, open Controls, press Modify, then press Reset to Defaults. Then, restart the game. There's a possibility that this will get you up and going!

Thanks for the quick reply Blair - just one more question because i don't see documentation on how to accomplish it - how do you assign the Cyborg controller to the game? I don't see any game or joystick option. I did try changing the second key option in the setup, hoping that the controller buttons/sticks would work but it is as if the controller is dead when it comes to flying. Have been able to get the weapons fire button to work through, but the mouse flight controls are still dead.

Wow even with the patch for joysticks this game still sucks.... so the sticks sorta kinda work... plane just wants to cork screw on its own with roll on . Roll off game plays for a bit then stick stops working . 2009 and the maker and publisher of this game cant even get it right the first out , second time out , third time out... Come on you meat heads .

Guys,

The patch has been updated to v1.02.2 - unfortunately this is a diagnostic release. We've added additional error checking and logging code which should hopefully shed some light on why some of these joysticks aren't working.

If your joystick is completely unresponsive in-game, download the latest patch, install it, and then create a shortcut to heroes2.exe, and run it with the following arguments:

--trace --tofile

While you play, the game should generate a file named log.txt in the same directory as heroes2.exe. (In Windows Vista, it may squirrel it away in a "compatibility" folder.) Make sure you go in-game and see what kind of functionality your joystick has - totally non-functional, axes/buttons don't work, everything works, etc. Also, try resetting your controller settings from default from within the game while you are doing this, and see if that has any effect.

I would then appreciate it if you took that file, and e-mailed it to me - bholloway at sign irgurus full stop com - along with your DXDiag results, and "joystick" in the subject line.

I am 62 years old. I have been building my own computers since 1989. Just curious; Why the hell can't we get at least One (1) link on this whole page that will direct you to Dnload the 1.02.1 patch. I have been sent everywhere; they want to sell you something with all these links.
I am about to give up on this Heros over Europe game anyway.... no cockpit view, BLACK SCreen in campaign mode. No-one knows how to fix it!!
Think I'll just leave it for the consolers.

I just bought this game and find it a total ****up. Nothing works, patches dont work, you get redirected to dodgy sites and still no idea where the so called patch is located.I will never buy UBISOFT products ever again and I shall advise my mates as well.I will stick to the products that work for me like the Codemasters products. UBISOFT SHOULD SHUT DOWN and stop pretending to know what they are doing as they clearly do not have a ****ing clue
