Far Cry crash to desktop: solution | Forums

For a while Far Cry was starting up to splash then crashing to desktop w/out explanation.

And there wasn't much on any forum to help.

I got Norton Antivirus 2005, (I didn't have any antivirus before, just AdAware and STOPzilla), found many infections.

The culprit was a virus fairly unknown, winfig ###, or something. It piggybacks on all exe files to continue executing its own actions.

For me only FarCry stopped working though.

Now with Virus cleaned/quarantined, Far Cry is working fine.
