go into the lockon folder
pilotlogbook
pilots
right click open with notepad

find your name change pilotstatus to "1"

Once your pilot is dead, then you might still be using his name as the pilot name, but he won't log any time. Each time he dies, you have to use notepad or a similar text editor to edit the file pilots.xml in the folder ...\lockon\pilotlogbook, search for your pilots name, then scroll along the line until you see Status= if it says 0 (zero) then your pilot is dead, change it to say 1 (one).

Remember status = 0(dead), status = 1(alive and kicking).

This is a real pain to have to do (maybe future patches will add a button in the logbook page to bring him back to life??). Try to bale out when you get shot down, so you are still alive. If you can't, hit ESC and quit before you die. Having to constantly edit the Pilots.xml gets old real fast.

There really shouldn't be any deaths that are permanent.. maybe a counter or something..
