Thread: Australian Pre-Orders | Forums

  1. #1
Just a note to our Australian and NZ members, that pre-orders for myst 5 are now available through http://www.gameswarehouse.com.au

both the standard and limited editions are available, naturally I've pre-ordered the latter.

Oddly enough the list of limited edition content is different from the ubisoft website, it says instead "Limited Edition includes bonus 'making of' DVD and bonus book of artwork, Rand Miller writings & D'ni dictionary"

I've e-mailed them asking them to confirm this.

UPDATE: Both standard and collector's edition come with a free wooden puzzle block for a limited time, apparently, if you order from Games Warehouse. It's not a myst 5 puzzle. It doesn't say Myst 5 or Cyan or Ubisoft on the side. It's just... a puzzle block.

Boy, been a while since I've been at these forums. Hi everyone.

    Ok folks, it is official.

Here is the response I received from Games Warehouse:

    Hi Sam,

Yes, UbiSoft Australia are putting together a "Collectors Edition" (as
opposed to the US's "Limited Edition") with slightly different contents.

If you require further information, please ask.

    Cheers,

Weeeeird. So there you have it. THREE different editions of Myst 5 will be available.

Now me personally I'm not actually sure which limited/collectors edition I'd prefer. Guess I should just buy the guide and the soundtrack seperately, since the rest of the contents sounds largely similiar.

    Thanks for the update the_fibber!

From what I know, there are generally regional variations in collector's editions of games, and editions of games in general. So, not so unusual.

Mm, what interested me is the Australian edition sounds substantially different, given you get a dictionary and a collection of readings and artworks.

The Australian collectors edition is the same as the European collectors edition (though the packaging might be different), the details of which are now in the pinned FAQ topic .

I just read the FAQ. We get the soundtrack as well! If it's a full soundtrack rather than the rather pathetic samplers of Uru and Revelation, then Australians and Europeans ROCK!

One question though, any news on whether Ubisoft will be releasing more copies of the limited edition to address the rather astonishing shortfall they experienced with Revelation?

I never really forgave Ubisoft for depriving me of my collector's edition of Revelation, though I was through an absolute stroke of luck able to snap up one of the last Uru collector's editions in Australia.

Naturally I've preordered months in advance this time, so I'm well prepared.

The US version comes with the soundtrack too . I'm looking into what "the soundtrack" consists of, and I'll be posting whatever news I get in the FAQ .

I think some of the shortfall may have been from unexpected purchases made by/for US players... with everybody getting some version of a CE, though, things may be better off. I'll investigate though .
